Help shape the future of our pension schemes and become a Trustee.
We're looking for Tesco colleagues who care about supporting others and want to play a role in one of our most important benefits - our pension schemes.
Interested? Why not apply to be a Trustee?
You don't need to be a pensions expert or have any specialist experience. Full training and ongoing support will be provided, so you'll be well-equipped to make a difference.
I'm thinking about becoming a Trustee but...
What does it involve?
The Tesco PLC Pension Scheme supports around 335,000 members and holds billions of pounds. The Trustee works with experts to make sure the money is invested wisely and pensions are paid on time.
The Tesco Retirement Savings Plan (TRSP) supports around 500,000 members. A special committee looks after this plan, deciding how the money is invested and what support members get to help them make good choices about their savings.
- You don’t need to be a pensions expert - we’ll give you full training and support
- You’ll be part of a friendly and inclusive team helping to keep things running smoothly
- There are monthly meetings (usually one a month) and a couple of training days each year. There is some flexibility to allow you to join remotely and fit them around your schedule
- You’ll be paid for your time as a Trustee
- You’ll need to read some documents before each meeting to stay up to date
- If you work at Tesco, you’ll need your manager’s approval to take on the role
- Trustees serve for up to 4 years, and can stay for up to 8 years if reappointed
Who should apply?
We’re looking for someone who’s curious, keen to learn, and passionate about helping others.
It’s a bonus if you’ve worked in a Tesco store or distribution centre - your experience gives you a great understanding of what matters to our colleagues.
We care about Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)
Having a mix of voices and experiences helps us run our pension schemes better. That’s why the Trustee and TRSP Committee are committed to making DEI part of everything we do. You’ll see this in:
- How we communicate with members
- How we find and support new trustees and committee members
- How we run our schemes every day
We always put our members first - and keeping DEI at the heart of our work helps us do that.
There's a question near the bottom of the form, asking if you need any adjustments to be made to help you with your application. If you do, please use the tick box to let us know, and we'll contact you to see how we can help.
Please note
By law, you can't be a Trustee if any of the following apply to you:
- You're under the age of 18
- You're currently subject to a bankruptcy order
- You're disqualified from being a director
- You've been convicted of an offence involving dishonesty or deception
